Format Output

 The formatting window allows you to specify how the clipboard information should be formatted.

Header Line - indicates that an initial record will be inserted identifying each of the fields included for each file. It will be formatted according to the formats specified in the remaining fields of this window.

Separator Character - specify what character should occur between each field. The default is a space. Selecting comma or Tab will insert commas or tab characters between each field. This will allow you to paste the result directly into a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel. You can specify an arbitrary character or characters by selecting “Other” and inputting the desired text into the edit box.

The result is that each element of the file name will be treated as a separate field in the output with the associated header field identifiers. If you specify a separator of tab or comma and then Insert Separators between the parts of the filename, they will paste into Excel as separate fields.
